  1. What to Bring to the Exam • (2) Blue of Black pens • (2) #2 Pencils • Graphing Calculator with fresh batteries (One may be provided by your school) • Straightedge or ruler

  2. Times • You have 3 hours to complete the exam. • You must be in the testing room by 10:00 AM • You must remain in the testing room for 2 hours.

  3. Test Format • Part I: Multiple Choice 54 points 27 questions – 2 points each • Part II: Open-Ended Response 16 points 8 questions – 2 points each • Part III: Open-Ended Response 12 points 3 questions – 4 points each • Part IV: Open-Ended Response 6 points 1 question – 6 points each Total: 39 questions 88 Total Points

  4. A formula sheet is provided for you.You will find it in the test booklet and you should tear it out.

  5. Read the Questions Carefully • Read the question before you try to answer it. • Identify the information you need to solve the problem by reading a second time. • Solve the problem and then read again to make certain you’ve found the required information.

  6. Draw Pictures Drawing a diagram will help you identify missing pieces, help you organize your data, and represent your information.

  7. If you get stuck, move on and go back to it later You may remember how to solve the problem by completing other problems on the test. Moving on will also help you to stay focused and not get flustered. Do the questions you have the most confidence in first, then go back and do the others.

  8. Know your Calculator Do not use a calculator that you are not familiar with! If you don’t know your calculator, your calculations may be incorrect. Be sure that you are in the correct mode for the type of question you are answering.

  9. Show all Work Provide detailed information including the work you did on your calculator.

  10. Are you Finished??? • Make sure that you answered every problem. • Check that all of your work is in ink, except for any graphs. • Make sure all multiple choice bubbles are filled in completely and appropriately. • Be sure to check over all of your answers for correctness.

  11. Have Confidence You have worked hard all year, so have confidence in your mathematical abilities and do your best!

  12. Now, lets get to work and start reviewing! I will be reviewing questions from previous Math B Regents exams and the Algebra 2/Trigonometry sample exam.
