  2. Introduction I have learned a lot in my Natural Disasters class. I’m very fascinated by meteorology and most of all tornadoes. When I discovered two natural disasters fuse together as one I was immediately interested. Those two natural disasters is the Tornado and the wildfire.

  3. Fire + Tornado The phenomenon is referred as a fire tornado (other names fire whirl or fire devil) In Natural Diasters we learned about weather and wildfire. But when the weather condition is right during wildfire, a rare fire tornado is formed.

  4. What causes a Fire Tornado? The heat in a fire causes an updraft, and a rotational movement will strengthen the flame causing the flame to stretch. The flame will form into a cylinder shape.

  5. Fire Tornado in Nature In nature the wind sometimes will move in a same rotational pattern to cause the fire to stretch and soon you have a fire tornado. Here is a video of a fire tornado in my hometown, Brazil. (video by RussiaToday on Youtube) (click on link to watch video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssn2kmNf0ME

  6. In Conclusion A fire tornado is a different event from a tornado. A fire tornado occurs in the ground while a tornado is released from a supercellcloud.I liked this topic a lot because it related winds, tornado, and wildfires. Three topics we covered in our class.
