  1. SOLARIS s.r.l. SAFETY, RELIABILITY & SERVICE. SAFE TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS FOR THE MINING INDUSTRY

  2. COMPANY STRATEGY • WHAT ARE WE SELLING? • High quality personnel transportation services with a strong focus on safety, reliability and service. • WHO IS THE CUSTOMER? • SOLARIS is primarily focusing on providing services to mining companies with operation in the Puna, especially those whose safety standards require quality contractors with a serious commitment to HSEC. • HOW DO WE DO IT? • SOLARIS is developing safety, training and documentation systems that comply with ISO14001 certification requirements. • Employee reviewed Risk Assessments. • Custom built Safety & Planning Databases.

  3. INNOVATIVE SAFETY • SAFE JOURNEY PLANNER DATABASE™ • Custom designed Risk Assessment database based on industry accepted principles of Risk Assessment and Mitigation (RA&M). • RA&M developed by operational staff. • Basic journey details are entered into the database which creates a ‘Safe Journey Plan™’. • Route details: start and finish points, stops, etc. • Customer & Client communication details (Cellular and Satellite Phone details), • Route specific risks with mitigation measures, • Detailed equipment list (First Aid, MSDS, etc). • The ‘Safe Journey Plan’ is printed and carried by the driver on the journey and is available to passengers. Additionally, it is e-mailed as a .pdf to the client’s office.

  4. INNOVATIVE SAFETY • INCIDENT PLANNING & TRAINING • Statistically, transportation related incidents account for the highest number of mining and exploration related deaths. • We aim to avoid all incidents, but should one occur we have systems in place to manage and limit the effects, including: • Detailed Incident Management Plan (IMP) located in each vehicle, at SOLARIS’s office and copied to the Customer (IMPs are region specific, namely for the sector of the Puna being visited, but contract specific IMPs can be designed on request). • 6 Monthly reviews of the data within the IMP. • Annual Incident Simulation Training.

  5. INNOVATIVE SAFETY • FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS • SOLARIS is committed to continual Safety Improvement and as a long term aim intends to achieve ISO14001 Certification for it’s own operations. • Current improvement projects include the development of the following systems: • Project Improvement Plans • Legal Register • Legal Compliance Monitoring • HSEC Records Register • Corrective Actions Register • Document Control System • Procedural Controls • Periodic Internal Audits

  6. INNOVATIVE SERVICE • TRAINING & MAINTENANCE DATABASES • Custom designed Staff Training & Vehicle Maintenance Databases are designed to document, store and monitor events and satisfy the strict documentation requirements of ISO Certified customers. • All databases are open to periodic review by customers and 6 monthly maintenance reports can be generated upon request. • SOLARIS’s training program has been developed based on current best practices and currently comprises of: • First Aid Training (External) • Defensive Driver Training (External) • SOLARIS Safety Systems & Procedures (Internal) • Customer Relations & Service Training (Internal) • Incident Simulation Training (Internal)

  7. INNOVATIVE SERVICE • APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT • SOLARIS operates vehicles which have a tested pedigree on Puna roads. We limit the size of our busses to 21 passengers. • GLOBALSTAR™ satellite communications in all vehicles with journeys planned to remote locations (includes all locations in the Puna), including subscription to ‘ShowPosition.com’ for location tracking. • On-board oxygen ‘High Altitude Kit’ when required. • SOLARIS uses well established and quality sub-contractors and service providers to maintain it’s assets.
