Morality and the Law

This unit delves into the intricate relationship between morality and law, examining how societal values shape legal structures. It highlights the tension that arises when laws and personal morals clash on contentious issues such as abortion, the death penalty, and same-sex marriage. In Canada, while individuals may not agree with certain laws, they are expected to comply with them, yet they still possess the right to voice dissent and advocate for legal change. This exploration encourages critical thinking about the evolving nature of laws in relation to shifting moral landscapes.
