Decontamination and Clean-up procedures • Notify lab supervisor and report the location of the spill and material involved • Evacuate area, put on the warning sign and allow potential aerosols to settle for at least 10 minutes. • Put on the PPE (disposal gown, gloves, shoe covers and mask). • Prepare a fresh solution of Presept Solution. (One Presept tablet (2.5g) in 140ml of water =10,000 ppm).

Decontamination and Clean-up procedures • Cover the area with paper towel and gently pour the diluted Presept solution on it. • Leave it for 10 minutes. • Discard the absorbent material into the biohazard waste bag. • Wipe the spill area with decontamination solution for a second time. Wash hands thoroughly after the clean-up procedures Note: Decontaminate from the outside of the spill area towards the center to avoid spreading contamination)

Decontamination and Clean-up procedures • Notify lab co-workers and lab supervisor and report the location of the spill • Mark off area which is contaminated, put on the warning sign • Place absorbent material on and around the spill • Put on the PPE (disposal gown, gloves, shoe covers and mask) • Decontaminate from the outside of the spill area towards the center to avoid spreading contamination

  7. Decontamination and Clean-up procedures • Wipe the spill area with Decon90 • Monitor the area to ensure thorough decontamination (Geiger counter or wipe tests) • Discard the absorbent material into the radioactive waste bag. • Wash hands thoroughly after the clean-up procedures
