  1. eRA@TU Updates • eRA@TU Personnel Updates: • Joseph Smallberger joins the eRA@TU team as our new eRA Technical Manager. • We are still looking for our Proposal Management specialist?

  2. eRA@TU Updates • eRA@TU IRB Updates: • Went live with Human Subjects Development module on 2/1/2013 • We took a phase wise approach to use electronic submissions and the IRB staff held numerous trainings and created good documentation that is posted on the website • We have 260+ Initial Submissions that were done electronically

  3. eRA@TU Updates • eRA@TU COI Updates: • Only ONE Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosure is required annually.However, an updated disclosure must be submitted within 30 days of acquiring a new significant financial interest (this includes travel) • All investigators (not just the PI) must have a disclosure on file in Temple’s eRA system at the time of grant application to sponsor organizations that follow the PHS regulation.* • Conflict of Interest Training must be completed by all investigators engaging in research funded by an organization that follows the PHS regulation. An investigator will not be able to submit a disclosure until the Conflict of Interest training has been completed.

  4. eRA@TU Goals • Implement Lab Animals Development • Eliminate Paper SPAF • We are working in our TEST environment on processes to eliminate paper spaf completely and make all submissions including non-competes and supplements electronic. • Move to the new version of the eRA@TU application • Pilot the S2S submissions for NSF proposals
