The Brag Packet. This is a 12 th Grade Requirement. Completing this questionnaire will help the student in answering questions during the Senior Exhibition. It will also help in preparing for a future job interview and for applying to colleges.

  1. The Brag Packet • This is a 12th Grade Requirement. • Completing this questionnaire will help the student in answering questions during the Senior Exhibition. It will also help in preparing for a future job interview and for applying to colleges. • This is an essential part of the Senior Exhibition. • If a student does not pass the Exhibition the student will not be able to graduate. • The Senior Exhibition is a San Diego School District Requirement for Seniors to graduate.

  2. Where can you find the Brag Packet? • Log into the Naviance Program, from PHHS website - http://henry.sandi.net • On the front page of Family Connections Click on the tab that says “About Me”. Here

  3. Brag Packet The following slides will show how a students can complete the “phhs brag packet” and what prompts/questions are involved. Here

  4. Brag Packet continued The is the beginning of the prompts to complete. Students type in the answers. Notice the red message. You MUST save your work often because your session will expire after one hour and everything will be lost! Save & return later is at the end of the Brag Packet. Click OFTEN on Save & return later.

Brag Packet The following are the first 10 prompts the students will respond to in the brag packet. continued • About Me Brag Packet: • Due date given for completion of this Brag Packet for college applications. • Full Name • Student Phone # • E-mail Address • Father's/Guardian's Name, Occupation & College Attended • Mother's/Guardian's Name, Occupation & College Attended • List Colleges you are applying to. • List two/three occupations you are considering. • What has been your favorite course at PHHS & why? • What three words best describe you and why?

  6. Brag Packet The following are the next prompts in the brag packet. continued • You have/have had a job? What did you learn from the job you didn't learn at PHHS? • Describe an event or activity that has had the biggest influence in your life. • Describe any significant challenges you have faced in life. • Discuss any decrease in academic performance or grade you received that does not reflect your true potential. • Have you ever been suspended or expelled from any high school? (If yes, explain.)

  7. Brag Packet The following are the next prompts in the brag packet. continued • Describe any special talent or unique quality that you have. • How do you spend your summers? Your free time? • What hobby or endeavor are you passionate about and why? • What are you most proud of? • Describe a significant leadership role you have held. What did you gain from this?

Brag Packet The following are the next prompts in the brag packet. continued • School Related Activities: Please describe the activity (club, sport team, service organization, ASB, etc.) and explain when and what you did, in detail, for this activity. List the most recent activity first. • Non School Related Activities: Please describe the activity (i.e. work experience/internship, non-school organizations, etc.), and explain when and what you did, in detail, for this activity. List the most recent activity first. • Community Service: Describe the service activity and how long you have been a participant. • Awards & Honors: List the name of the award/honor, and explain what the award was for and why you were selected. • Personal Prompt: Please write a letter about yourself to the admissions department of a college. (We recommend a 1-2 paragraph response.)

  9. Brag Packet The following are the next prompts in the brag packet. continued • Parent Letter Prompt: (This section is to be completed by your parent/guardian. (What would you want the admissions department to know about your child that they would not be able to learn from their transcript and the college application? This could include strengths, unique characteristics, significant family events, personal obstacles, etc.) We recommend a half or full page response. • Peer/Mentor Brag Letter Prompt: (To be completed by a close friend or adult mentor about what is special about you.) Recommended to be a half or one page letter. • The last request is to ask your counselor for a letter of recommendation and it explains how to do this.

  10. Finding your Brag Packet once it is submitted. When you finish your Brag Packet and submit it you can find it in your “Completed Surveys”. Here

  11. Sharing your Brag Packet at your Senior Exhibition! Option 1: You may show your Brag Packet from the Naviance program. You would display this from a computer projecting the information onto a pull-down screen in the classroom. Option 2: You may print your Brag Packet and place it in your Exhibition Portfolio 3-ring binder for panel members to view.
