  2. Warm Up Using your textbook,define and provide an example of: • Alliteration • Assonance • Consonance SAT word: QUERULOUS (adj.) - complaining

Alliteration – the repetition of consonant sounds at the beginning of words • Ex: Fetched fresh, as I suppose, off some sweet wood • Assonance – repetition of vowel sounds • Ex: Whitman’s "When I Heard the Learn'dAstronomer” • Consonance – repetition of the same end consonants of words • Ex; The boat swam at night.

  4. Drawing on the character traits you identified for Wednesday’s homework, write a short, interesting blurb about yourself to help me get to know more about your individual personalities.

  5. The rules: • The blurb must use demonstrations of alliteration, assonance, OR consonance throughout. • You must use your first name at least once. • Be creative, funny, interesting; but keep it school appropriate!

  6. As most of you are not as apt to know more about me, my name is Alexandra, I am adamant about animals, athletics, and green apples. I’m from Long Island, New York and you will probably sometimes laugh at the awkward way I talk. My mom says I could dance before I could walk and the only bone I’ve ever broken was my jaw on one unlucky, rainy, childhood night. On the weekend I like to spend time with my friends and my family is fairly funny, too. My hope for you all is to embrace the persuasion, meditation, creation, exploration, aspiration, and cultivation that English education has to offer.
