E-Serials: an ENSTINET Perspective

The Scientific & Technical Archiving System (STARS) was launched in 1994 to preserve and provide access to Egyptian research literature, covering 201 periodicals. It upgraded its infrastructure in 1997 to improve production and enabled web access to facilitate remote research and document delivery. The collection spans topics like Biomedical Sciences, Agriculture, Pure Sciences, and Engineering, with over 88,000 articles archived from 1986 to 2001. STARS aims to maintain national archives and promote the development of digital libraries in Egypt.
