  1. Chalk It Up!! Jon Prescott, Alexis Andrews, Drew Osier

  2. Problem/Solution Problem- At first it was a problem of people losing their drinks but that transformed into just people having fun with it. Solution- Chalkboard base to a wine glass so that you can personalize it and have your own one of a kind glass.

  3. What we did! Main focus was finding out the market for this product and our customer. • For this we went out and talked to potential customers and businesses to see who would be interested in our product. Talked to the manager of Hyvee in Pella to see if we could retail there. • We showcased there but the deal fell through with them and they didn’t want to sell it in store.

  4. Pivots • We had to change our customer because we originally were going to sell to bulk companies but that transitioned into retail. • Also we changed from a low price product to charging a very high price to the specific market • We also said that we would be with them long term but since this is more of an impulsive buy that just means that it’s a one and done.

  5. Pivots cont. • Through our research we eliminated the bulk, hotel, winery, and party planners.

  6. 3 Big Lessons • Selling is hard • What you think should happen often do not happen at all • Getting a business of the ground is much harder than it seems

  7. Final • This product, although a fun idea, is one that should be a DIY option. • Although we had success in the short term we feel that based on our current time commitments this is not feasible to continue doing
