  2. DO NOW: Visit each key message poster and respond to the two questions. Read the comments that are already on the poster before you write your own.

  3. Gallery Walk Read and reflect on all of the postings

  4. Synthesizing the Key Messages • Which of these key messages did you most live by this year? • Which will you pay more attention to next year? Why? • How do the actions listed on the Key Message charts help you close the achievement gap for your students?

  5. Program updates: The portfolio collection time will be May 19th at Seven Stars Bakery (342 Broadway) from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. If that time will not work for you, please contact me about submitting the portfolio before that time.

  8. Reflect on effectiveness in instruction, assessment and content knowledge and identify next steps in professional development. Identify and plan to implement management routines and pacing strategies that support student engagement.

  9. Please take out your intervention plan from the last session (Handout 14.9).

  10. In your inquiry groups… SWITCH intervention plans until everyone has one that is not their own. • Use the sticky notes to provide some feedback about the plan. Use Handout 15.1 for some ideas. • When you are done, return the plan to the owner and answer any clarifying questions about the feedback.

  11. Analyzing Student Progress in the Content Domain • Use Handout 15.2 to reflect on student progress in the content domain. Refer to any assessment data that may be relevant. • Additional question to consider: Considering what you have learned this year, how will you teach the content differently next year?

  12. Synthesizing Strategy Implementation Planning and Reflection Sheets • Take out/pull up the strategy implementation planning and reflection sheets you completed this year. • Use Handout 15.3 to reflect on your overall strengths and weaknesses this year.

  13. Synthesizing Strategy Implementation Planning and Reflection Sheets PAIR UP with someone not in your Inquiry Group and share your reflections.

  14. Managing for Success • (5 min) Turn and talk to the person next to you about successful management strategies/routines that you implemented this year. • How did this routine set your students up for success? • Choose one strategy/routine between the two of you to share with larger group.

  15. Share out • Briefly describe the strategy/routine and why you decided to implement it. • How did this routine set your students up for success?

  16. Personal Reflection on Management • Complete the T-chart on Handout 15.5 • Highlight your strengths and weaknesses in establishing a classroom environment and management systems in a variety of instructional settings which were discussed throughout this course. • Strengths and weaknesses can be measured via the effect the routines had on maximizing instructional time and student achievement.

  18. Continued Professional Growth • Take out/pull up Handout 2.14 • Enter today’s date (5/9) in the Check in #3 column. Record your progress for the goals that you set for yourself earlier in the year. • Use Handout 15.6 to draft your professional goals for the next school year.
