1. College Backpacks If you have recently enrolled in a college, you will need a bag which can hold your textbooks, notebooks, laptop and other essential items. A laptop is absolutely essential in college life. You will need it to write your reports, do research on the internet, etc. Hence, you would need a bag that has a separate compartment to hold your laptop. Shoulder/Messenger Bags vs. Backpacks While buying a bag for daily use in college, you will be faced with the choice of buying a satchel/shoulder bag or a backpack. Most college students prefer a backpack to a shoulder bag as it is more convenient to carry. A backpack is the best way to transport heavier items like a laptop. Also, compared to a messenger/shoulder bag where the load is borne by only one side of the body, the backpack is designed to optimally distribute the weight of the bag between the two shoulders. What Type Of College Backpack To Choose? A college backpack should have a padded compartment to hold your laptop. It should have another big compartment to hold your books and smaller pockets in it to hold your pens, cellphone and other miscellaneous items. The more compartments a college backpack has, the easier it is to organize your stuff. So, choose a college backpack that has 2 main compartments, outer compartments to hold other items, and side compartments to hold a water bottle. College Backpacks – Style Statement And Trendy Colors Black and brown are the most common colors for college backpacks, but these days college backpacks come in a lot of trendy colors and designs. A stylish college backpack always catches one’s eye. Durability and Functionality It makes sense to buy a backpack that is waterproof and durable. A waterproof college backpack will safeguard your laptop and other accessories. It should also have space to hold a few textbooks and any other miscellaneous items that you might need in class or while on campus. Ideally, you should buy a college backpack that will last at least a few semesters.

It should have ergonomic shoulder straps so you do not get back pain. Invest in a quality backpack that will last you at least 4 years.
