READ: EZEKIEL 44:1-3 THE EAST GATE AND THE PRINCE 1 Then He brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces toward the east, but it was shut. 2 And the LORD said to me, ‘This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter by it, because the LORD God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut. 3 As for the prince, because he is the prince, he may sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gateway, and go out the same way.’

NKJV WHAT DID THE LORD SAY TO MOSES? ‘You shall set the showbread on the table before Me’ READ: LEVITICUS 24:9 9 It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings of the LORD made by fire, by a perpetual statute. READ: LEVITICUS 7:15-18 15 The flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offering for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day it is offered. He shall not leave any of it until morning. 16 But ifthe sacrifice of his offering is a vow or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offers his sacrifice; but on the next day the remainder of it also may be eaten; 17 the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day must be burned with fire. 18 And ifany of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offering is eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, nor shall it be imputed to him; it shall be an abomination to him who offers it, and the person who eats of it shall bear guilt. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! READ: EZEKIEL 44:4-5 THOSE ADMITTED TO THE TEMPLE 4 Also He brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple; so I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face. 5 And the LORD said to me, ‘Son of man, mark well, see with your eyes and hear with your ears, all that I say to you concerning all the ordinances of the house of the LORD and all its laws. Mark well who may enter the house and all who go out from the sanctuary.

  18. QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:4 WHAT DID EZEKIEL SEE? ‘the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD’ WHAT DID ISAIAH SEE? READ: ISAIAH 6:1-4 1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 One cried to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!’ 4 The posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:4 READ: EZEKIEL 10:3-4 3 The cherubim were standing on the South side of the temple when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court. 4 The glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’S glory. When they went out, the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the East gate of the LORD‘S house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. READ: EZEKIEL 40:4 4 ‘Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you;for you were brought here so that I might show them to you.   26. QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:5 WHAT DID THE LORD TELL EZEKIEL TO DO? ‘See with your eyes and hear with your ears’ WHAT DOES ‘mark well’ MEAN? READ: EZEKIEL 43:11 11 If they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple and its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and perform them.’ NKJV WHY WRITE IT DOWN? ‘They may keep its whole design’ ‘all its ordinances and perform them’

READ: EZEKIEL 44:6-7 THOSE ADMITTED TO THE TEMPLE 6 Now say to the rebellious, to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘O house of Israel, let Us have no more of all your abominations. 7 When you brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to defile it — My house — and when you offered My food, the fat and the blood, then they broke My covenant because of all your abominations.

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:6 READ: EZEKIEL 3:4-9 7 But the house of Israel will not listen to you, because they will not listen to Me; for all the house of Israel are impudent and hard-hearted. 8 Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. 9 Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house. HOW? ‘You brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart anduncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary to defile it’ READ: GENESIS 17:13-14 13 He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant. WHAT DID THE LORD COMMAND ISRAEL? ‘He who is born in your house must be circumcised’ ‘the uncircumcised male child’ ‘shall be cut off from his people’

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:7 HOW DID THEY DEFILED THE TEMPLE? ‘When You offered My food, the fat and the blood’ READ: EXODUS 12:43-44; 48 43 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, ‘This is the ordinance of the Passover: No foreigner shall eat it. 44 But every man's servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then he may eat it. 48 When a stranger dwells with you and wants to keep the Passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as a native of the land. For no uncircumcised person shall eat it. NKJV WHAT WAS THEE LAW OF THE PASSOVER? ‘No foreigner shall eat it’ ‘No uncircumcised person shall eat it’

READ: EZEKIEL 44:8-9 THOSE ADMITTED TO THE TEMPLE 8 And you have not kept charge of My holy things, but you have set others to keep charge of My sanctuary for you.’ 9 Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who is among the children of Israel.

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:8-9 THOSE ADMITTED TO THE TEMPLE 8 And you have not kept charge of My holy things, but you have set others to keep charge of My sanctuary for you.’ 9 Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My sanctuary, including any foreigner who is among the children of Israel. WHAT DID THE LORD SAY TO THE PRIESTS? ‘you have not kept charge of My holy things’ you have set others to keep charge of My sanctuary’ ‘No foreigner ‘uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh’ ‘shall enter My sanctuary’

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:8 WHAT DID THE LORD SAY ABOUT THE PRIESTS? ‘You have set others to keep charge of My sanctuary’ READ: NUMBERS 18:7 7 ‘You and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and behind the veil; and you shall serve. QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 44:9 READ: NEHEMIAH 13:7-9 7 I came to Jerusalem and discovered the evil thatEliashib had done for Tobiah, in preparing a room for him in the courts of the house of God. 8 And it grieved me bitterly; therefore I threw all the household goods of Tobiah out of the room. 9 Then I commanded them to cleanse the rooms; and I brought back into them the articles of the house of God, with the grain offering and the frankincense. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
