The Five Pillars of Islam are fundamental practices that guide Muslim life and faith. They consist of: 1) **Faith (Shahada)** - the declaration that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger. 2) **Prayer (Salah)** - performing five daily prayers facing Mecca. 3) **Alms (Zakat)** - giving to the less fortunate to support the community. 4) **Fasting (Saum)** - abstaining from food and drink during Ramadan. 5) **Pilgrimage (Hajj)** - undertaking the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once if physically and financially able.

The Five Pillars are the general rules Muslims follow! All Muslims are responsible to follow these rules.
Faith • The first Pillar of Islam is faith also known as Shahada. • Each Muslim has to be faithful to knowing that Allah is the only God. • Also that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
Prayer • The second Pillar is prayer also known as Salah. • All Muslims must prayer each day at least five times. • They turn to Mecca ( The holy city of Muslims) and prayer.
ALMS • The third Pillar is Alms also known as Zakat. • Muslims were taught to support the poor. • They gave the less fortunate money or alms to support them.
Fasting • The fourth Pillar is Fasting also known as Saum. • Muslims fast during Ramadan (the holy month). • They fast (don’t eat )during dawn & sunset then eat a small meal at the end of the day.
Pilgrimage • Pilgrimage is the fifth and last pillar it is also known as Hajj. • Muslims participate in this if they’re Physically and financially able. • The Hajj or Pilgrimage is to Mecca and you do this at least once a year.
