It is the first of 14 flower shops he will open in the New York Metropolitan area. • 1983 • Flora Plenty merges with Rosalia Florist. • 1986 • Jim McCann acquires the 1-800-FLOWERS phone number and changes the company name to 1-800-FLOWERS® • 1998 • 1-800-FLOWERS opens first design center in Bethpage, NY. • Merges with Plow & Hearth. • 1999 • Jim McCann publishes his first book, “Stop and Sell the Roses” • 2001 and beyond • 1-800-FLOWERS donates over one million flowers to events honoring victims of 9/11 and participates in ceremonies for the families at Ground Zero Jaebum Han #006
