  10. Data Synchronization Overview‘101’ Step 1- Prepare & Aggregate - A supplier must prepare the item data. This includes aggregation of data to meet data attribute requirements, formatting of data to meet industry standards, and ensuring it will pass validation rules Step 2 – Publish Item data to their source data pool (WWRE) – A supplier may publish data to the WWRE in one of two ways, spreadsheets or XML. ( Industry standard EAN.UCC XML is supported) Step 3 – Register Item data – The supplier’s data pool must register base item information ( 8 attributes) with the EAN.UCC Global registry. The registry will validate that the items are registered and unique. Step 4 – Through the use of their recipient data pool (WWRE) a Retailer/Distributor interrogates the EAN.UCC Global registryto do a “411:” on where supplier data is located. The Global registry points to where in the network the data resides. Step 5 – Data Exchange – A connection between a suppliers source data pool (WWRE & Others) and a Retailer/Distributors recipient data pool (WWRE) is established. Data and messaging is exchanged between data pools. Step 6 – Data flow to Retailer/Distributor – Retailer/Distributors are able to pull data into their back end systems (EAN.UCC XML)
