  1. Français I: Le 31 aout/1 septembre, 2011

  2. Qui estprésent? • Les upperclassmen: prénomsfrançais • Syllabus • Jeu de piste • Les phrases de la salle de classe • Pourquoiétudier le français?

  3. Syllabus • Notebook (Les cahiers) • Either binder OR spiral notebook • Periodic checks at least once a marking period • Book covers will also be checked periodically • Split into 4 sections: • Vocabulary • Notes • Warm-ups/Bell-Ringers • Homework/Verbs

  4. Participation and preparation • 2 points each day • If you need to ask me for a pencil, or if I see that you don’t have your required materials you will lose your preparation point for the day (1/2 points) • Let’s review: What do you need to bring with you?

  5. Grading Scale • See syllabus

  6. Gum • I don’t want to see it or hear it! • If you are doing an oral presentation, you must get rid of it

  7. Lockers/Bathroom • DO NOT ask me to go to your locker. You must come prepared to class. If you need a sweatshirt/jacket, please bring it before you get to class.

  8. Referrals • I will give you 2 verbal warnings. On the third offense, I will write a referral to Mr. Davis • Lateness: If you are late 3 times to class, I will write a referral

  9. Homework • I do not accept late homework • It’s due on the “deadline” or if you are absent you have as many days to make it up as the number of days you were absent. • If you aren’t sure what the homework is, look on the side board. It will be posted.

  10. What you can expect • To do SOMEthing every day • It might be group work, a listening activity, book work, a game, or a combination… but we will be doing something each and every day • So that means no “free” days • You will get out of this class what you put in!

  11. Jeu de Piste • Textbook scavenger hunt with a partner
