  2. Student Growth Diboll ISD is committed to helping our students reach their full academic potential. The Diboll ISD board expects that 100% of students will show academic growth and at least 85% of our students, district wide, will show at least 1 year of academic progress over the course of the school year. This progress will be demonstrated with a combination of some or all of the following metrics, the use of which may vary by campus or grade level: Universal Screenings, Formative Assessment (w/ instructional data in DMAC) and Summative Assessments (STAAR or Campus Developed). We will incorporate our STAR Enterprise BOY/EOY testing and Index 2 in the Accountability system The Diboll ISD board expects that at least 90% of our student’s district wide will participate in at least 1 academic extracurricular event, and that at least 30% will participate in at least 2 such events. 3. Develop Job Ready Graduates Diboll ISD is committed to helping our students achieve job readiness skills. The district will make the development and ongoing evaluation of students Personal Graduation Plan (PGP) a top priority. Communication with students and parents will be documented and regularly reported to the Board. The purpose of this is: 1. to assure ALL students and their parents understand the benefits (college enrollment) of a distinguished plan; 2. promote job readiness; and 3. help facilitate the transition from secondary to postsecondary. ACT/SAT participation numbers and scores will be regularly communicated to the Board. The Board expects that at least 65% of our students will take either the ACT or SAT. In addition, students will be encouraged to take these exams in the 2nd semester of their junior year, to afford them the maximum benefit of the scores in scholarship and other applications. For programs that offer students the opportunity to earn certifications, the Board expects that the District will make every effort to help those students receive those certifications. For this year, the Board will receive a report of which certifications are available, how many students are receiving those certifications, and how many students are on track in those programs to receive certifications in the future. (2014-15 school year) Since verbal communication is critical for job readiness in almost any field, the District will make every effort to have all students take at least one public speaking course prior to graduation beginning in the 2014-15 school year. A report indicating the numbers of students completing this will be provided to the Board. DIBOLL ISD 2013-2014 Every Child! Every Day! Every Way!
