Learning Curve • Learning Curve is an employment/vocational training centre for people with disabilities, predominantly people with a learning disability that are more able i.e. read, write and travel independently. • Our main objective is to offer support & training that will enable our students to access paid employment

  3. Employment Development Team • Learning Curve has its own Employment Development Team. The main aim of the Team is to improve employment prospects for disabled people. • Services provided by the team include an employment plan, careers guidance, job search, CV preparation, interview practice and preparation for work training. • One to one support is offered to students to enable them to secure work experience placements, voluntary work and full or part time paid employment opportunities.

  4. Employer Support & Advice • We can also offer disability awareness training & advice & guidance on reasonable adjustments to employers. • Regular reviews for employees & advice on in work benefits allowances. • An Individual Employment Support Worker to act as a point of contact for each employer. • We match suitable candidates with job vacancies.

  5. Success Stories May 2008 • MB works full-time at Mail UK as a mail-screener/driver. • RW works part-time at Block Busters as a shop assistant. • AS works full-time at Ealing Council as an apprentice. • CI received an Adult Learners’ Week Award in (NIACE) London.

  6. Partnership Working • Learning Curve has strong links with Shaw Trust, Mencap Jobcentre Plus and other organizations and continues to work on developing partnerships within the community.
