NERCC Renovation Project: Supporting Rehabilitation and Regional Impact

Northeast Regional Corrections Center (NERCC) is a 144-bed correctional facility operated by Arrowhead Regional Corrections. This project requests $2.85 million for Phase 3 renovations, addressing health and safety issues and prioritizing vocational programming.   2. ARC is a Community Corrections Act agency formed by a joint powers agreement between Carlton, Cook, Lake, Koochiching and St Louis Counties in 1976.

  3. Northeast Regional Corrections Center(NERCC) • 144 bed correctional facility owned and operated by Arrowhead Regional Corrections (ARC). • Correctional programming: • Chemical dependency treatment • Education & vocational • Cognitive skills

  4. Northeast Regional Corrections Center“A Workhouse that Works” • 3,200 acre working farm • Produce chickens, pigs, turkeys, vegetables, hay and barley • Men assigned to work crews

  6. Northeast Regional Corrections Center A Model that Works Over 80% of the residents are convicted felons. 83% of residents do not commit new felony offenses for 3 years from discharge (statewide average is 63%)
