About Sail Boston UNCLASS Sail Boston, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization (501(c)(3) that was established in 1992 and has since hosted more than 500 international tall ships and vessels of interest to the Coastal Communities of Massachusetts. Sail Boston, Inc. endeavors to develop programs that provide economic development and cultural enrichment for citizens, businesses, and visitors to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta set sail from Royal Greenwich on April 16 and will make various port calls before crossing the North Atlantic for Bermuda, Boston, and Quebec City. The visit to Quebec City will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. Tall ships will return to Europe in early September 2017. Sail Boston 2017 is the only Official U.S. Port of Call for the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. Sail Boston 2017 will be the largest gathering of International Tall Ships in the U.S. since July 2009.

UNCLASS Tall Ship Pre-Arrival Anchorage Areas Friday, June 16, 2017 Tall ships will rally and anchor in Broad Sound and Nahant Bay area. * *100 Yard Safety Zone around participating Tall Ships while in Anchorage Areas. Saturday, June 17, 2017 Tall ships will make their way to the staging area for the Parade of Sail into Boston Harbor.

UNCLASS Parade of Sail Details • Start Time: 9am, June 17th at North Channel Buoy. • Tall ships will turn at USS CONSTITUTION, then proceed to pre-designated moorings. • Spectators should be in temporary anchorages no later than 8:30am, June 17th. • Temporary anchorages will remain in effect until 4pm or at the conclusion of the Parade of Sail. • Vessels are permitted to transit and maneuver within the temporary anchorages. • If a vessel operator cannot safely navigate within the temporary anchorage, notify an on-scene law enforcement vessel for guidance.

UNCLASS Safety Zone Details • During Parade of Sail, the Safety Zone area is 1,000 yards ahead and astern and 100 yards on either side of the Tall Ship. • There will be a 25 yards Safety Zone around each moored participating tall ship. • The outer perimeter of the anchorage area will be the federal navigation channel line. Additional buoys will be used to mark the channel line as a visual reference.

UNCLASS Suspicious Activity • Be aware of suspicious vessels and individuals near: • Bridges, tunnels, overpasses • Commercial areas: fuel docks, cruise ships, marinas • Military and government facilities • Industrial facilities • Be aware of activity around sensitive location, like: • People appearing to be engaged in surveillance • Unattended vessels or vehicles, where they should not be • Lights flashing between boats • Missing fencing or lighting • Transferring of people of things between ships or boats
