GOETEC Activities Lots of discussions • Data centre resilience • ICT provision in classrooms • WAN options • New point-to-point circuits for the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University • For point-to-point circuits, contact GOETEC • For JANET connections, contact JANET • Several new layer 2 KPSN tunnels • Various quotes for upgrades/additional connections

  7. GOETEC Activities • Discussions KPSN and JANET about CPE router and MRS routers on site • May be necessary to have both devices, but we’re exploring the option • JANET about support for site-to-site connections • Early indications are promising • Makes configurations like this possible: JANET

  8. GOETEC Activities • Representing your interests with KPSN • Improved network reliability • Risk Register • Improved change control process • Liaison with JANET(UK)/KPSN to ensure effective support processes

  11. GOETEC Activities • A new “large file” sharing service being investigated • For files too big to email • Free to members for modest use • Small charge for non-members and heavier users • Uses shibboleth/LDAP, so no account management overhead
