Skills • Integrating SBA into F4 and F5 curriculum and the lesson • Using SBA descriptors to promote desired language behavior • Teaching speaking skills by • modelling and deconstructing language in the lesson • Analysing spoken texts for generic structure/ lexico-grammatical features • Teaching functional grammar at the right level • Using a range of controlled practice activities to promote and scaffold speaking practice • Correcting and providing feedback to learners • Using questions (including concept checking) to develop meaningful feedback in the classroom

  5. Skills • Task Development • Designing tasks for teaching, learning and assessment • Recognising and designing easy and difficult tasks • Adapting tasks from existing materials

  6. Knowledge • Language Assessment • Key concepts and terminology for language assessment • Using scales and descriptors • Internalizing the descriptors – developing “short-cuts” • Relating the assessment back to the classroom (feedback, tasks, etc) • Calibration/ moderation
