SABS IN CONTEXT • SABS is classified as a Science Council • It reports to the dti where it receives its policy direction • The Standards Act mandates • SABS as the National Standards Development Organization • SABS as a regulator responsible for the administration of technical regulations arising mainly from the dti • The SABS has a defined Commercial interest
