So, the responsibility of a Designer is to translate the client’s desires into modern trends that will be able to be a part of a social context, as well as a reflection of style and taste. Technological Revolution Definition and Awareness of Green Materials Create a new aesthetic that is in harmony with the natural world and still looks fabulous. • Weight control to enhance performance. • Range of colors to enhance creativity of the design. • Textures to enhance visual interest. • “Un-breakability” and resistance to all types of hazards to enhance sustainability and low maintenance. Consider Companies with Mission Statements that focus on sustainability and awareness of social impact.Focus on products that are: • Ecologically Correct. • Energy Efficient. • Cost Effective. • TrulyEnvironmentally Friendly.

  3. What Makes a Designer Choose to “Go Green”? A desire for a change in product selection from my clients. • Making conscious choices to work with many more companies and brands that focus on sustainability. • Using products that are ecologically friendly, for example, are either recyclable and/or having some pre-consumer recycled content. • The latest in technology is no longer related to high cost. • Emerging materials technologies and computerized fabrication have been integrated, facilitating the designers work. • Savings in time and money for turn-key operations. • Cross functional operations. • Supply chain management. • Sustainable and cost effective solutions are a high priority. The bottom line – we all save time and money.

  10. Purple Rain – Haida Inspired This design was inspired by studying the millennial symbolic art of the Haida, an Indian Tribe from the Pacific Northwest. Depending on the ocean’s food chain for their survival, the Haidas were one of the earliest recorders of knowledge about the migration of whales.
