The Background of PCHP. • PCHP started in 2005 as an unfunded, informal organization and officially registered as a subgroup of Qinghai Minorities Charity Fund in 2011. • At the beginning , the students’ collections were archived in the project office. Some students brought them to their communities. In 2010, the members began making DVDs of their collected songs and digital photographs.

  5. 2. How Do We Select PCHP Members? • The students are from Qinghai Normal University. • Recommended by their teacher. • Originally from rural areas. • They are motivated to do such work.

  6. 3. The Training Provided for Members. • Building cultural awareness. • Recorder and camera training. • Video editing skills training. • Metadata collection training.
