  4. S L A I N L A M B STUDY Text 11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. 6And thou Bethlehem, [in] the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found [him], bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 4And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 7Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. Matthew 2:1-11. KJB 3When Herod the king had heard [these things], he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 5And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

  7. S L A I N L A M B namely; Gold, Frankincense and, Myrrh. However, they are also portraits of Christ’s offices signified in the three gifts presented to Christ at birth by the wise men, They are divine clocks (seasons ‘mô‛êd' – a fixed and appointed time. Leviticus 23:4) as was said in our last study. How these feasts portray these three offices forms the bedrock for this study. Though the seven feasts are Jehovah’s feasts, they are not just only feasts, they hold more than just feasts.

  8. S L A I N L A M B Begins Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

  9. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Seven Feasts ~ We MAY believe they are equally symbolized in the seven lampstands of the temple’s Menorah. Then further down, are grouped into the three offices of Christ; Prophet, High priest and, King. But in this study we shall explore the three offices of Christ symbolized in the three gifts from the wise men, portrayed in the seven feasts. While these seven feasts (Spring feasts and Fall feasts), are physical feasts observed in their seasons they play out within seven months timeframe, Leviticus 23:4These [are] the feasts of the LORD, [even] holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. Exodus 25:37And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. but are separated in two at the feast of Weeks/Pentecost, symbolically the church age.

  10. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Three Gifts ~ Matthew never said their numbers, nationality, or country, therefore, no one in recent times should say otherwise. Wise men: Matthew 2:11…and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Ember months flourishes with seasons cards sent to love ones depicting three wise men. or that the prophetical, priestly, and kingly offices of Christ are to be seen in these gifts and, matching their relativity to the Seven Feasts of the Lord mentioned in Leviticus 23. The closest number anyone could suggest is in one of the messianic psalms, Psalms72:10. There it said four kings from; Tarshish, Isles, Sheba, and Seba. However, their gifts are not without symbolic values to the person of Christ. We shall begin with the myrrh, then frankincense, and finally the gold. Shepherds: 12And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. Wise men: Matthew 2:11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, … It is wise to heed Matthews account and be free from suggesting numbers to these wise men. Shepherds: 16And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 9They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. Unfortunately, this belief lacks biblical supports, and must be treated as such: 10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. It would be wise to address another false belief before looking at the gift items here. The Greek word used in the instant texts defines ‘babe’ as ‘brephos,’ unborn or figuratively a babe. In biblical times, visits were seldom paid to sovereigns without a present. Luke and Matthew give this exposé. Read and observe the texts following. And ‘young child’ as ‘paidiona’, half grown boy or girl; little, young child, damsel. Christmas cards and handed down sermons figured it out all wrong. They were designed to express His divine and human natures; The wise men never met Jesus a baby; they met him a walking child. The number of these gifts has led many to unscholarly believe they were three wise men. It was the shepherds that met baby Jesus in a manger, a day old or more. Psalms 72:9-10 Luke 2:12, 16

  11. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Three Gifts ~ MYRRH – Sufferings of Christ 1 Peter 1:11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferingsofChrist, and the glory that should follow. 1 Peter 4:13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 5:1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferingsofChrist, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 22Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,23Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred [shekels],Exodus 30:22-23 John 19:39And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound [weight]. For as the sufferingsofChrist abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.2 Corinthians 1:5 It was used chiefly in embalming the dead, because it had the property of preserving dead bodies from putrefaction. It was also used as perfume and sometimes mingled with wine to form an article of drink. Mark 15:23And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received [it] not. Myrrh was one of the principal spices obtained from a thorny tree. However, it denotes bitterness and the sufferings Christ.

  12. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Three Gifts ~ FRANKINCENSE – Priesthood of Christ And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incenseupon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.Exodus 30:8 Leviticus 16:12And he shall take a censer full of burning coalsof fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands full of sweet incensebeaten small, and bring [it] within the vail: 3For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 1Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; It is highly odoriferous or fragrant when burned, and was therefore used in worship, where it was burned as a pleasant offering to G-D. Romans 8:34Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makethintercessionfor us. It was used by the high priest when discharging levitical duties like, offering prayers. Hebrews 4:15For we have not an high priestwhich cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities…. Frankincense is a white resin or gum. It is obtained from a tree by making incisions in the bark for the gum to flow out. Frankincense speaks of the priestly office of Christ and His divinity. Hebrews 8:1, 3

  13. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Three Gifts ~ GOLD– Regency of Christ 30And he took their king's crownfrom off his head, the weight whereof [was] a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was [set] on David's head. …. Gold is ornament associated with regents (royalties) hence commonly worn by kings and royals especially in the days of yore. 1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, It was the first gift mention amongst the three but the last in significance as it speaks of His last office in the redemption ministry hence we started with their order of event. 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 29And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it. However, the Seven Feasts are fossilized in the tenure of these three offices.. The gold presented to infant King Jesus was token of His royalty. Namely; myrrh, frankincense, and gold. 2 Samuel 12:29-30 Mathew 2:1-2

  14. S L A I N L A M B ~ The Seven Feasts and the Three offices ~ The Three Gifts: The Seven Feasts: • Passover, • Unleavened bread, • Firstfruits, • Weeks/Pentecost, • Trumpets, • Atonement and, • Tabernacle. 2 Timothy 2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. With such practice it becomes very impossible to rightly divide the Word of Truth to stand approved before G-D. We have seen how these three gifts played out in the seven feasts in such a profound style that one would stand in awe of G-D’s wisdom. Making it impossible for anyone to doubt the authorship of the sacred writings commonly called the Bible. Unfortunately, this is practice seen amongst some professors of the Christian Faith today. • Myrrh, • Frankincense and, • Gold. It is unscholarly to undermine the Old Testament facts and depend solely on the New Testament. Once again, here is how they all played out in table form.

  15. S L A I N L A M B triumphal entry, arrest, unfair trials, crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and, ascension. There may not be express command to observe the Passion Week events as was for water baptism and the holy communion, though. The Passion Week study series afford the Church great opportunities to reminisce about His to which all humanity owes a big thank you to Jesus. A big thank you to the Father for sending Jesus. And a big thank you to the Person of the HolySpirit for being with Jesus till the end of it all. All playing out in the Seven Feasts of Leviticus 23. Fossilized into the three gifts from the wise men prophetically revealing His three offices. It is nonetheless wrong if the Church does so as it brings back to memory all He went through for our redemption, Happy Passion Week to all Believers in Faith.
