  1. Daniel Assouline has a Lot of People Sense and Intellectual Humility

  2. Daniel Assouline, the former CEO of Montreal based UpClick.com is a leader who carries a lot of credibility with him. A highly professional and ethical leader, Daniel always puts the interest of his organization and his employees above his own self-interest.

  3. Being a CEO is the greatest career leap that an executive can make in his career. Being a CEO, however, is different from being a successful CEO. The complexity of the role and the skill that is required to manage the responsibilities and duties that come with being the head of an organization is not easy one.

  4. Having the title of CEO printed on your business card is tough but claiming the title and excelling in the role are entirely different things. There are self-styled CEOs who utterly fail in their job while there are leaders who actually build world class organizations. In the following slides we shall look at some of the key characteristics that all successful CEOs have in common.

  5. People sense One important thing to note especially when you are building a startup is the hiring decisions you make. In a highly competitive business environment, people matter as much as, or in some cases even more than the products or services that an organization offers. It is often seen that success of many modern startups is directly related to the quality of teams assembled by its CEO.

  6. Modern startups can be highly successful if it has a CEO who has a knack for identifying and retaining top talent. Also, it is important that a CEO is firm in his resolve and does not hesitate in the slightest to act when someone fails to be the correct fit for the company.

  7. It is therefore not uncommon to see that CEOs who are highly successful have a talent for identifying the right people for the right job. Daniel Assouline, the former chairman and co-founder of e-commerce solution provider UpClick acquired top talent for his organization as he possessed this unique characteristic of selling other people on his dream or his business.

  8. Additionally he never failed to take action if someone turned out to be the incorrect fit for the company. This is of utmost importance as a CEO who is awesome in hiring but lacks the cold-eyed resolve to act when a person fails to contribute to the organization, is likely to fail as a leader.

  9. Intellectual humility Successful CEOs never claim to be the ‘all-knowing’ types. They know that however smart you are, you will be smarter if you lean on others’ intelligence as well.

  10. Top performing CEOs like Daniel Assouline have smaller egos and have humble opinion of themselves. They treat learning as a never ending process and are truly open to acquiring knowledge and wisdom from other people’s experience and feedback. They are aware of the fact that they do not have all the solutions and cannot perform all tasks on their own.

  11. Daniel Assouline is a leader who pays regular and undivided attention to his employees’ feedback and suggestions. He takes creative ideas from his workforce and never shies away from giving credit for the right suggestion and feedback.

  12. Thank You
