This summary highlights discussions on applications of crab cavities in future lepton-hadron colliders, focusing on improving beam-beam interactions and geometric overlap to enhance luminosity leveling and beam quality. It explores potential applications in HL-LHC, RR LHeC, RL LHeC, HE-LHC, eRHIC, and beyond, discussing off-momentum cleaning, bunch compression, and field quality considerations. The session emphasizes development and implementation planning, outlining project structures and budget estimates, with a focus on choosing the right cavity type for optimal performance. Key aspects include roadmap outlining, beam test specifics, system specifications, and operational considerations for running physics experiments.

4th LHC Crab Cavity Workshop Summary of session on « Schedule & Future Outlook…»
Other Crab Cavity Applications F. Zimmermann • Crabbing of colliding beams at the IP - improving geometric overlap - boosting beam-beam tune shift - luminosity leveling - avoiding off-center collisions from beam loading → HL-LHC, RR LHeC, RL LHeC, HE-LHC, eRHIC,… • Off-momentum cleaning → HL-LHC • Bunch compression → PDPWA

Comments (personal) on planning • At the level of the HL-LHC Project, need to outline: • The different possibilities (e.g. Crab Cavities) with their own roadmaps • Specifications / beam performance • The milestones for decisions • Within the Crab Cavity work programme, need to clarify quickly: • The precise purposes of the beam tests in the SPS • The schedule and the procedure for deciding which cavity should be tested in the SPS • The final system specifications (deflecting field, direction of kick (H/V), dimensions, acceptable non-linearities, impedance, machine protection requirements…) • Possibility to run for physics with a not operational cavity
