  3. Judy, our director, with a lot of help from her friends on the grounds crew, had the campus looking absolutely beautiful. Our student workers never stopped smiling. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  4. The Western College Memorial Archives – Director Jacky Johnson had displays ready for all to see. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  5. WCP dean Bill Gracie explains the Western Program to a visiting group of MU alums and WCP professor Mark McPhail is probably telling “Dickie” Coninx ’45 all about his plans for the Windate Writing Center. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  6. WCP professor Terry Perlin’s provocative lecture on lying enthralled the audience … with, perhaps, one exception. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  9. A Westerner from the Class of ’50 meets a Westerner from the Class of ’86, while Dean Bill Gracie catches up with Sean Boda ’04. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  11. Mary Jane Liggett Matson ’49 relays the memories compiled by her tablemates – a mix of old and new Westerners – at Friday night dinner. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  14. Calling all birders! Kevin Hils ’85, from the Columbus Zoo, led a campus bird walk bright and early Saturday morning. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  15. As always, the parade led straight to Peabody Hall for the Annual Meeting. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  16. WCAA president Pat Pinkowski ‘70 presided over a full house at the Annual Meeting. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  17. First-year International Scholarship recipient Ceng Hu from China moved us with her heartfelt thanks. Ceng later connected with Susie Kitagawa ’59, who came all the way from Japan. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  18. Dean Bill Gracie and campaign co-chairs Jeff Horst ’79 and Greta Pope Wimp ’74 made a convincing pitch for the $4 million Westerners will raise together in the next three years. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  19. A panel presentation on Western’s Environmental Studies featured Jason McDonald ’05, who suggested the environmental Reunion theme last fall, and Genevieve Knight ’04, who recreated her Senior Project on the 1913 Ohio flood. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  20. Virginia Cook Marquett '45 – one of the seven who returned for their 60th! – gave the invocation at Saturday's Meily Society luncheon– honoring alums who have celebrated their 50th. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  21. "Old" Meily Society members demonstrated the WAVE. Reunion Weekend Chair Greta Pope Wimp '74 and song leader Betty Sipe Gerber '52 awarded door prizes to a lucky few! REUNION WEEKEND 2005

Phyllis Hoyt signing copies of her book, Where the Peonies Bloomed. Among the admiring autograph-seekers were honorary alumnus and the former editor of The Oxford Press, Bob White; and first dean of the Western Program, Mike Lunine, who shared banquet speaking honors with Phyllis.   24. After lunch Saturday, Miami professor Jack Keegan (left) gave a lecture and tour on organic gardening at Boyd Hall. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  25. Trustee Stevie Bentzen Snook '69 introduced alum Fran Hoffman '65 and WCP prof Nancy Nicholson, who led a lively discussion of the environmental questions raised in James Speth's Red Sky at Morning. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  26. During the few moments of free time, attendees found a variety of ways to amuse themselves. Faith Barrington ’65 in the gift shop. That shirt is “you”! REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  27. "The Duck Pond is still there." Kathleen O’Brian Lillich ’65 greeted Alice Wilson Pilafidis ’65 and Emile Pilafidis. "So many Western blues!" Madelon Operer Hall ‘55 blended in nicely. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  29. "Brooksie" Jacobs Jones '65 made sure to look up favorite professor Don Auble and his wife, Carolyn, at the Patterson Place reception. Only a few raindrops fell, but they didn't faze the jazz combo ― or anyone else, for that matter! REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  30. Martha Williams ’73 and Carol Dornan, former faculty, share memories at the Champagne Reception on Patterson lawn. And school pals from opposite hemispheres Akemi Uchima Decena '61 and Isabel Oteo de Martinez '60 are still close after all these years. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  31. Small world! That may be what our MU grad student-worker/ photographer Heather Stuart and alum Ginnie Hirschfield Tribble '50 are indicating. They'd just discovered they were born in the same hospital in Ontario! Another of our multi-talented student workers, Margaret Donohue, provided dinner music at the Saturday Banquet.   32. WCAA president Pat Pinkowski '70 introduced the trustees emeritae at the Saturday Banquet, held in the elegant Heritage Room, Shriver Center. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  33. Emcee duties were shared by Reunion Committee member Evie Small Hohler ’64 and Dean’s Alumni Advisory Committee chair Ben Gibbons ’94. Ben officially welcomes Class of 2005 alums Diane Jones and Leslie Arms into the Western College Alumnae Association. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  34. In her Banquet toast Mary Sicer Moore '55 paid a ringing tribute to Western from the 50-year class, and Margie Gasche Ewing '45 held forth on traditions, claiming that she can still fit into her junior garb. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  35. Diane Wright '86 announces the name of the first WCP recipient of the Alumnae Service Award — Kyle Farley '83 — for his wide range of efforts to bring the power of media to bear on behalf of many important causes.  Lucy Liggett '54 accepts her Service Award for for her pioneering work in media, innovative teaching and distinguished leadership.   37. Gail Howell Litwiler ’61 leads the choir. Director Judy Waldron confers with chapel speaker, Barbara Knuth, a member of the 25th Anniversary class. REUNION WEEKEND 2005

  38. The traditional gathering Sunday morning in Kumler Chapel closed with a newer tradition ― the formation of a complete circle and singing of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" ― borrowed from the Western Program's commencement ceremony. REUNION WEEKEND 2005
