  7. Airmux-400 in Brief Airmux-400 is a point-to-point radio solution for combined Ethernet and TDM traffic over license free frequencies

  8. Target Markets • The Airmux-400 series is targeting the global markets of Cellular Backhaul, WiMAX and ISP Backhaul, Broadband Access and Private and Government Networks • All these markets require higher bandwidth (TDM & ETH) with longer range, robustness; while keeping the best price performance

  9. Airmux-400 – Benefits • High bandwidth with longer range – 50Mbps full duplex net throughput reaching up to 120km • Combined Native TDM & Native Ethernet services on one platform • Competitive prices – higher Ethernet & TDM capacity for lower prices • Applicable to nLOS, over-water deployments and high capacity over extended range with improved robustness thanks to the OFDM, MIMO and antenna polarization features. • Flexible product usage (& stock reduction) of the configurable ODU. • Fast and easy deployments via installation and alignments tools

  10. Version 2.2 – New Features • Service – • TDM(4/8/16 E1/T1 ports) • SFP port for FE services • Radio – Multi Bands and regulations • 2.4, 4.9, 5.3, 5.4 GHz FCC/IC band • Single configurable ODU HW for 2.4 , 4.9GHz - 5.9GHz • Management – • Software upgrade for multiple links, configuration backup and restore, link lock

  11. ETH Performance

  12. TDM Performance Typical performance assuming availability of 99.99%

  13. Spatial Multiplexing MIMO • MIMO = Multiple Input Multiple Output • A high rate signal is split into multiple lower rate streams and each stream is transmitted from a different transmit antenna in the same frequency channel. Lower rate streams Streams merged into one signal High rate signal TX RX

  14. Benefits of MIMO-OFDM MIMO achieves significant increases in capacity, range and reliability without additional bandwidth or transmit power • Increased range and reliability: • The Ethernet data stream is split into two lower rate chains. • These chains can be transmitted in lower rates, achieving longer ranges and higher reliability • Improved availability • The streams arrive at the receivers at different qualities. MIMO chooses the best stream available • Paths in poor quality are thus eliminated and availability increased

  15. Product Elements ODU • Integrated dual polarization antenna • Connectors: 2 x N type for external antennas, 1 IDU-ODU, 1 multi p-t-p synch IDUE • Ethernet & TDM support • 19” 1U • PoE device supported Management • Common NMS for Airmux-200 and Airmux-400

  16. Roadmap Product Phase New Features Ready for GA Airmux-400 2.3 HSS – Co Location Support Support Hot Stand-by 1+1 3Q ’09 Airmux-400 2.4 Support asymmetric 100Mbps @ 20MHz channel BW for Ethernet services only 4Q ’09

  18. Version 1.800 Products and Features

  19. New “Unified “ IDU-E • Replaces all 8 different IDU-E products • Supports 2 options : • Ethernet services only (2 ports) or • TDM (4 ports) + Ethernet (2 ports) services. • The TDM ports are user configurable (E1/T1) • Independent clock per TDM port to supports several networks • Dual wide range DC power supply

  20. 1+1 Link Redundancy • Monitored Hot Standby (MHS) 1+1 solution provides TDM service redundancy with high reliability • Switching occurs upon equipment failure or loss of air interface • Automatic switching time < 50 msec • Requires an MHS cable between IDU’s at both ends Dual Polarization Antenna Dual Polarization Antenna Primary Secondary Primary HSS Cable Primary Secondary Secondary n X E1 PABX / Multiplexer PABX / Multiplexer MHS Cable n X E1 n X E1 n X E1 n X E1 n X E1 n X E1 MHS – Monitored Hot Standby HSS – Hub Site Synchronization

  21. New Features Radio – DFS 2 Compliance to the new radio DFS 2 regulations (DFS v 1.4.1) which defines the interference priorities between a radar and a commercial radio link Management • SW upgrade for multiple links w/o affecting the service during the upgrade. • Configuration backup and restore

  22. System Basic Architecture Up to 48 Mb/s Up to 80 Km ODU ODU 100Mb/s Up to 100m CAT5e Cable 100Mb/s Up to 100m CAT5e Cable IDU IDU-E

  23. IDU – Standard indoor unit Ethernet Ethernet + E1 or T1 Ethernet + 2 x E1 or 2 x T1 IDU “E” – Carrier-class indoor unit 2 x Ethernet 4 x E1/T1 ports and 2 x Ethernet Airmux-200 System Components-IDU’s

  24. IDU – Performance • Jitter and wander according to G.823.4 • Clock recovery (<0.05 PPM) • E1 typical delay is 8 msec • TDM circuit BER < 10e-11 @ sensitivity threshold • Ethernet delay less than 3 msec • Lossless Ethernet traffic – Even in 10% Air interface loss still there will be no ETH packet loss • Lossless TDM traffic supported as well • Unit size – One “U”
