Develop a strategy for primary care that reflects national and local requirements and is consistent with the aims of the Public Health Outcomes Framework Develop a confirmed model of primary care placement Develop a menu of training available for primary and community care staff Priority activities 2013-2014

Three year strategy approved to increase the numbers of undergraduate nursing placements available Dedicated webpages now available Using ATP as single voice/expertise for general practice training Task and Finish Groups Health Care Assistants Practice Nurses Advanced Nurse Practitioners Mentorship Raising National awareness of this model : presentation and workshop at the RCGP and an article submission at the RCN Advanced Training Practices (ATP)

  4. GP expansion : delivery plan of 329 entry points to GP training from 2014; significant challenge to recruiting to those. Population capitation formula used to identify addition placements. GP enhancement: early discussions with CCGs about piloting some ST4 placements as OOPE in ST3 funded by CCGs to meet unmet service needs.
