  4. Visitor Arrivals Update Year to date • Jan – Oct 2008/ 2007 = +9.7% growth over 2007

  5. 2009 Tourism Fiji targets Visitor arrivals = 600, 000 pax (5 % growth in Visitor arrivals) Australia visitor arrivals = 255,000 pax

  6. Strategic Direction: • Consolidation of traditional markets (Australia, NZ, USA, EEC) • Pursue emerging markets China, India, rest of Asia and Eastern Europe countries • Roll out of destination Fiji Branding • PARTNERSHIP • Internet marketing / E-commerce • Niche marketing

  7. Investment & Accountability • Review of market performances on a 6 monthly basis • Measurement of return on investment • Redirection of funds if unutilised

  8. Summary • 2007 gross VA was -0.2% over 2006 • Year to date arrivals show a growth by 9.2% • VA target for 2009 = 600, 000 • Strategy is about consolidation and growth through partnerships • Tourism Fiji will be held accountable for funds
