Hospital Valld'Hebron. UAB. Barcelona OBJETIVOS 1. Estudiar la prevalencia de infección por CMV en pacientes con infección por VIH y <50 linfocitos CD4. 2. Evaluar la utilidad de la determinacióncuantitativa de la PCR de CMV en el diagnóstico de la enfermedadorgánica por CMV. • MÉTODOS • Pacientes con infección VIH y < 50 linfocitos CD4 (años 2006-2008) • determinar PCR cuantitativa CMV basal • documentación de afectación orgánica CMV • determinación de linfocitos CD4/carga viral VIH a los 3-6-12 meses

CONCLUSIONES • En el 25% de los pacientes con infección por VIH con < 50 linfocitos CD4 se detectó viremia por CMV. • En los que la PCR-CMV fue positiva, el riesgo de afectación visceral por CMV se correlacionó con el grado de viremia. • Al utilizar un punto de corte de 10.000 copias/mL de CMV se obtiene una especificidad/valor predictivo positivo del 100%.
