    1. Safety Anchorage Components in Construction

    2. What is Anchorage? A fall arrest anchorage device, provides a secure point of connection for a personal safety device to attach to. Not this-

    4. When are they required? Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations stipulate that whenever a potential for fall at a height of six feet or more exists, fall protection must be utilized for the safety of workers. The key component of this fall protection is the anchorage device. OSHA also states that this device must be able to support 5,000 lbs.

    5. Industry Importance In the construction industry in the U.S., falls are the leading cause of worker fatalities. Each year, on average, between 150 and 200 workers are killed and more than 100,000 are injured as a result of falls at construction sites. (www.osha.gov)

    6. Fall Statistics 80% of occupational fall fatalities from 1984-1986 occurred in construction (based on a study of NIOSH National Traumatic Occupational Fatalities database by Suruda, Fosbroke and Braddee (1995)).

    7. Safe Worker

    8. Fall accidents are expensive The construction industrys second highest cause of financial loss due to worker injuries (based on a study by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., 2006).

    9. Typical Anchorage Systems The Super Anchor is the industry standard for permanent fall protection anchorage devices. Installed at the framing stage, the ARS series features a water proof flashing system that is compatible with all types of roofing membranes common in residential construction. Installs at framing stage or at the truss plant Flashings available for Asphalt, Tile, Metal and Wood Shake roofing All stainless steel construction with grade 8 hardware Complements all scaffolding and guardrail systems Installs on back side of structure for low visibility Stem covers available in 3 different colors to match roof color. 100% compatible with "Fall Arrestor" products Sized to fit 2x4 through 2x12 framing members Custom sizes available to fit most applications Complies with OSHA 1926:502(d)(15)

    10. Typical Anchorage Systems Cont.

    11. Large Snaphook Anchorage Easy to install Reusable Can be used on a multitude of structures

    12. Beam Choker

    13. Horizontal Life Line (HLL)

    14. Ridge top Anchor

    15. Rebar-Strap Anchor Reusable Expansion Bolt Anchor

    16. Anchorage for Steel

    17. Creation of Anchors by Welding Attachment Points to Steel

    18. Sala Eyebolt Can be fixed into solid masorry or concrete construction with a resin anchorage system. In cavity construction a through fixing is used with a spreader plate on the opposite face to the eyebolt fixing. Can be fixed onto steel structures.
