  2. WHAT ARE ADVERBS? AN ADVERB IS A WORD WHICH MODIFIES THE MEANING OF A VERB, AN ADJECTIVE OR ANOTHER ADVERB. FOR EXAMPLE: SADIA RUNS QUICKLY. THIS IS A VERYSWEET MANGO. ALI READS QUITE CLEARLY.

  3. INSTRUCTIONAL LESSON PLAN. The best way to teach adverbs is to make it interesting and fun. When your students are enjoying an activity and learning about adverbs it is easier to understand the topic. In order to make learning adverbs fun and interesting, the multimedia based teaching will be used. The learners can click on watch the movie given at the end of the lesson. This will strengthen the learner’s motivation to learn. Multimedia elements can make learning more fun and more attractive for the learners.

  4. Objectives of the lesson: The aims of this lesson is to clarify the meaning and the correct usage of the adverbs. Learners(students)will be introduced what are adverbs? To enhance their knowledge about different kinds of adverbs. Each kind of adverbs will be cleared with examples to clarify how to use each kind. To enhance their knowledge about the formation of adverbs.

  5. How to form adverbs: We can form adverbs from adjectives by adding –ly for example: Careful: carefully Angry: angrily Complete: completely

  6. KINDS OF ADVERBS. ADVERBS OF TIME (WHICH SHOW WHEN) ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY(WHICH SHOW HOW OFTEN) ADVERBS OF PLACE(WHICH SHOW WHERE) ADVERBS OF MANNER( WHICH SHOW HOW OR IN WHAT MANNER) ADVERBS OF PURPOSE( WHICH ANSWER THE QUESTION WHY)

  7. ADVERBS OF TIME. ADVERBS OF TIME ARE THOSE ADVERBS WHICH EXPRESS TIME LIKE WHEN. FOR EXAMPLE: I HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE. HE COMES HERE DAILY.

  8. Adverbs of frequency. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY ARE THOSE ADVERBS WHICH SHOW HOW OFTEN. FOR EXAMPLE: I HAVE TOLD YOU TWICE. HE OFTEN MAKES MISTAKES. DAVID IS ALWAYS HAPPY.

  9. ADVERBS OF PLACE. ADVERBS OF PLACE ARE THOSE ADVERBS WHICH SHOW WHERE. FOR EXAMPLE: THE LITTLE LAMP FOLLOWED MARY EVERYWHERE. THE BOYS ARE WAITING OUTSIDE.

  10. ADVERBS OF MANNER. ADVERBS OF MANNER ARE THOSE ADVERBS WHICH SHOW HOW OR INWHAT MANNER.FOR EXAMPLE: THIS STORY IS WELL WRITTEN. SLOWLY AND SADLY WE LAID HIM DOWN. SHE DID THE WORK CAREFULLY.(CAREFULLY MODIFIES THE VERB TO DESCRIBE THE WAY THE WORK WAS DONE AS OPPOSED TO QUICKLY, CARELESSLY ETC.

  11. COMPARISON OF ADVERBS. SOME ADVERBS, LIKE ADJECTIVES, HAVE THREE DEGREES OF COMPARISONS. SUCH ADVERBS ARE GENERALLY COMPARED LIKE ADJECTIVES. IF THE ADVERB IS OF ONE SYLLABLE, WE FORM THE COMPARATIVE BY ENDING –ER, AND THE SUPERLATIVE BY ADDING –EST, TO THE POSITIVE; AS, FAST, FASTER, FASTEST. HENRY RAN FAST. (POSITIVE) JOHN RAN FASTER.
