Biography • Born Feb 1rst, 1902 Joplin Missouri • Died May 27th, 1967 • 1903 Parents separated making movement frequent • 1924 Attends Columbia University • 1924 Publishes “ The Negro Speaks of Rivers” • 1924 drops out of Columbia University and moves to Africa, Holland, and Paris • 1924-1966 many great works are published earning many metals and prestigious awards • 1967 he dies at the age of 65 • 1973 the first Langston Hughes metal awarded by city college NY
