  5. Grevy’s Zebra • Population has declined over 80% since the 1970’s • Hunting, human encroachment and drought are main causes

  6. Giraffe • Only a few hundred exist in the “wild” (protected areas) • Over 450 in captivity

  7. Mongolian Wild Horse • Never domesticated • Once extinct in the wild • Reintroduced in National Parks

  8. Howler Monkey • Threats include human predation, habitat destruction and being captured for pets or zoo’s. • Video

  9. Fruit Bats (Flying Foxes) • Native to Philippines • Certain species are EXTINCT • Deforestation, habitat destruction, and hunting hurt populations.
