PowerPoint Design Themes • A Design Theme provides consistency in design and color throughout the presentation • A design theme provides: • Color Scheme • Font and font sizes • Layout of the presentation • Common background
PowerPoint – Design Tab • The Design tab has 3 groups: • Page Setup: Define the page setup for slides and hand outs • Themes: Pick a theme for the current presentation. • Background: Set and modify the background on the slides.
Page Setup Group • The Page Setup group allows you to change the screen size for slides and to change the orientation (portrait or landscape) of the slides. • In general unless you have an unusual screen size the defaults are fine.
Themes • Design themes are a new addition to PowerPoint 2007. They work in a similar way as the design templates in earlier versions of PowerPoint. • A really nice feature of the design themes, is that you can immediately see the effect reflected on your slides, before committing to a decision.
Themes • To choose a theme you simply click select it form the dropdown box. • You can also access themes online.
Themes • Once a Theme is selected you can set the color and font styles from the dropdowns.
Background Styles • Background Styles allows you to set solid color background or fill the background with a texture or picture. • Based on the Theme there are preset backgrounds you can use by clicking Background Styles or click on Format Background to customize the background.
