Storing Food Safely In The Fridge • Store raw meat, fish or chicken in a sealed container. • Ready-to-eat food should be covered and stored above the bottom shelf.
Your Fridge • Clean the inside and outside of the fridge once a week. • Throw out food once it has passed its sell-by date. • Do not put hot food in the fridge - let it cool first.
The Freezer • The freezer should be below -18ºC. • All food should be in good condition before it is frozen. • All foods should be labelled and dated. • Frozen food should be defrosted in the fridge.
