  5. Who is Involved At the state level: In Ohio, Board of Regents is the lead agency OBR partnering with Ohio Association of Community Colleges

  6. Who is Involved At the Community College Level Five Ohio Community Colleges Colleges had participated in Achieve the Dream—national initiative to improved community college outcomes

  9. Scope of problem A large number of students need developmental education. In FY 2008, 90,000 students in the University System of Ohio are taking some developmental coursework Why this Focus?

  10. Why this Focus? 50% of first-year community college students have been determined not to be college ready in one or more subject

  11. Why this Focus Developmental Education is costly. In FY 2008, the cost to community colleges and students was $73 million Fiscal Concerns

  26. OBR’s DEI Plan Identify practices that are most successful in moving students from ABLE back to community college

  27. OBR’s DEI Plan Develop protocols for use by other ABLE programs and community colleges for initiating, establishing, and maintaining agreements
