By learning more about technology, you open up the door to an entire new frontier of interesting and exciting adventures. During this class, we ventured into many areas of IT such as programming, data analysis, and photo editing. • Being able to analyze data effectively is a valuable skill in workplace and even your home. Microsoft Excel is an excellent tool that enables you to do so. • We analyzed data from: • Financial Information • Ocean Temperature Trends • Class Demographics • These are just a few of the things Excel can be used for! By Andy White Image Analysis and Manipulation with Photoshop Visual Programming with Scratch Computational Thinking Scratch is a programming language designed to teach young people the basics of computer programming. In Scratch, you program different “Sprites” to act in ways designated in their individual scripts. Scratch is great for creating basic games Computational thinking is a collection of diverse skills to do with problem solving that result from studying the nature of computation. We learn to develop these skills through studies in computer science. We must think creatively, logically, and algorithmically to think computationally. Presentation of Information with Word and PowerPoint Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are both useful programs to present information. On PowerPoint, you can make slideshows, and on Word you can make documents to print/hand out. Photoshop is photo-editing software used commercially and recreationally all across the world.
