Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ILO Standards: A Global Perspective on Social Policy

This document outlines the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in December 1948, emphasizing key rights such as life, liberty, freedom, and the right to work. It also details the 1998 Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy, which provides globally agreed guidelines for business, labor, and governments to ensure decent work standards. Furthermore, it introduces the UN Global Compact, a voluntary initiative encouraging businesses to align with universal environmental and social principles, including human rights and anti-corruption measures.
