  2. Covered aspects: • Review of New Mandate 2010-2012 • Water scarcity and droughts indicators • Discussion on objectives and goals • Identification of pilot river basins (Spain, Eslovakia, Italy, France, UK -tbc-, Finland -tbc-). They will be officially confirmed. • Follow-up introduction of EEA works on WS&D indicators (questionnaire sent to MS complementary to SoE sheets) • Presentation on the Segura pilot River Basin • Presentation from FR pilot case • River basin management plan information and future steps by the EC

  3. Transfer and exchange experience with international fora/other regions • The Mediterranean region: • The Strategy for Water in the Mediterranean presents a momentum to increase collaboration with Mediterranean non-EU countries in Water Scarcity and Droughts aspects • The Euro-Mediterranean working group is developing similar activities (indicators and maps) within the MED EUWI/WFD Joint Process framework. Synergies will be explored. • JRC presented advances on the European Drought Observatory and possible collaborations with MS (data sharing) • Drought risk maps and support to WISE (Criteria, Data integration) • Presentation on XEROCHORE project advances and future meetings

  4. Agreements achieved: • Within two weeks: leaders will provide an indicative bullet-point list on information required from pilot river basins. • By April the official identification of these pilot river basins should be done. • By June MS should provide useful web-links to JRC to find ways to link information with the European Drought Observatory. Pilot River Basins should determine, bilaterally with JRC, possible data transfer collaborations. • By the end of May: Pilot River Basins should answer questionnaire provided by EEA. • The next group meeting will be held in Helsinki, on 30 September 2010.
