  6. AVID • Mrs. Chapman… • A college preparatory program designed to provide skills to get students in AND through a 4-yr college/university • Replaces Freshman Seminar-Students take Health any time before graduation • Not an At-Risk program • Offered for grades 9-12 at EMHS

AVID: 9th Grade Curriculum • Academic skills: Note-taking, organization, critical reading, academic writing in content areas • Test Prep: PSAT • Collaboration and Inquiry: Two tutorial sessions per week with college-age and peer tutors • College & Career Exploration • Leadership • The Hidden Curriculum: Technology etiquette, college admissions, community service, and more

What is Digital Learning… • Mrs. Lamphier… • A more modern approach to learning for the current and upcoming generations. • Provides the necessary tools in technology for today’s modern age. • Teachers are able to go more in-depth through the use of technology and are able to help the students easier with the help of the internet and by having access to helpful devices such as Smart Boards.

What advantages does Digital Learning provide? • Students will be able to have access to internet resources, such as: • Online interactive StudyMates • Online text and reading materials that are frequently updated. • Google Docs for easier collaboration with other students. • Students can present their projects easier by using the interactive Smart Boards. • Students will also be able to take online quizzes and tests that provide them with their scores and mistakes right after completing a quiz or test.
