You clearly did NOT have Mr. Eleftheriades • I want to ensure that everyday mistakes that people make that cost them jobs, admission into schools, and credibility in everyday conversation are not made by my students. • We start of with the parts of speech, which I am sure many of you have studied, but we pick up rather quickly, so make sure not to fall behind

  6. Nouns • Noun- person, place, thing or idea • Common nouns- any one of a group of persons, places, things or ideas • Proper noun- a particular person, place, thing or idea. • Proper nouns are capitalized, common nouns are not (unless they start a sentence or are part of a title)

Concrete and Abstract Nouns • Concrete nouns- Person, place or thing that can be perceived by one of the senses. • Abstract Nouns- names an idea, a feeling, a quality, or a characteristic. • Concrete nouns- fire, garlic, cotton, horses, Liberty Bell • Abstract nouns- self-confidence, strength, charm, ability, Zen • Concrete and Abstract Nouns Worksheet and page four Oral Practice exercise.
