The Life and Legacy of William Shakespeare: Master Playwright of the Elizabethan Era

William Shakespeare (1564-1616), born in Stratford-upon-Avon, was the third of eight children and married at just 18 to his 26-year-old wife. By 1594, he had already published six plays and was recognized as an accomplished actor. His works span genres including comedy, tragedy, and historical drama, captivating audiences with titles like "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The Globe Theatre, where many of his plays were performed, was a hub of creativity until its burning in 1613, leading to the creation of a new Globe in 1999.
