  1. Power Point Presentation on Global Warming Lesson One • Through a power point presentation (given separately) the reasons for Global Warming are discussed with the students. • The effects of Global Warming are also highlighted. • The strategy being taken by the EU to combat Global Warming is also analysed.

  2. Climate Change Lesson Two Strategy for Activity: • Numerous articles are downloaded from the internet regarding Climate Change. • The teacher or the students themselves can supply these articles. • These articles are distributed at random amongst the students participating in activity. • The students have to jot down important points from the given articles. • The students can work in pairs.

  3. Next step: • Then the students have to discuss the positive and negative impact by the social category or important aspects chosen at random from a pack of cards. • The random card is chosen by students in turn. • The debate concerning each category/aspect is allowed for 5 minutes. Then another card is chosen. • The set of cards are given below from Slides 4 to 9.

  4. Follow up The students have to choose a card from the ones remaining and write a report on the positive and/or negative impact by the social category/aspect chosen on the issue of Climate Change. They can support their ideas by research work via internet. R. DeBattista Head of Department Geography
