1.Protecting public health funding: Urge Congress to protect critical funding for public health service agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Health Resources and Services Administration. 2.Protecting public health funding in the Affordable Care Act: Encourage Congress to protect the Prevention and Public Health Fund, the first national commitment to public health and prevention of its kind, created under the 2010 health reform law. 3.Reauthorization of the Farm Bill: Urge Congress to ensure the Farm Bill improves public health through preventing hunger and improving nutritional food options. While advocacy is important year round, the PHACT Campaign focuses on three summer periods when members of Congress will be at home in their districts: •Memorial Day recess period: May 26 – June 1 •July 4 recess period: June 30 – July 8, •August recess: Aug. 4 – Sept. 9
