About the JFS Elder Program The Elder Club, a program of Jewish Family Services of WNC, offers an engaging and supportive program for older adults to enjoy a wide range of social activities, ability-appropriate exercise, and nutritious kosher meals prepared on site. Socialization and Friendship in an enjoyable group setting

Who Should Attend We welcome all older adults, of any faith, who are looking for an opportunity to socialize with their peers and those who may have a limited ability to get out on a regular basis. Individuals with physical and/or mild to moderate memory challenges are also welcome. Peace of mind for family and respite time for caregivers. Additional JFS support is available, including confidential consultations, and other resources related to concerns about aging issues

  8. The Program Visits from preschool and school age children with the “Grandma’s and Grandpa’s” are a highlight of The Elder Club experience.

Hours of Operations and Services “When the bus drops me off at home…, I start looking forward to the next…Club meeting.” Visit the Jewish Family Services Website: www.jfswnc.org • The Elder Club is located at Doctor’s Park, Ste. 2E, 417 Biltmore Ave., from 11am to 2pm every Tuesday & Thursday. • The program fee includes a daily kosher snack and lunch. This is the only kosher senior meal site in WNC. • Door to door transportation may be arranged with Buncombe County’s Mountain Mobility van service. In some cases, caregivers or family members provide personal transportation to the program. • Need based scholarships may be available by request. • Older adults of all faiths, races, gender, ethnicities, country of origin, sexual orientation and abilities are welcome to enroll in The Elder Club program.

  11. Volunteers & Staff We welcome volunteers of all ages to assist with providing hands-on-help, social interaction, and a large dose of fun. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their unique skills and interests to enhance our programming. The staff includes a Program Coordinator, a Program Assistant., and a Kosher Caterer.
